Dosaze ThermaCool dual-sided comforter, labeled: feels cool on contact, stays cool with PCM fill, wicks moisture with TENCEL lyocell

5 reasons ThermaCool keeps you cooler

Cooling comforters don't all cool the same way. Some feel cool for a minute, some breathe better. Here's what to check before you buy any of them, and how ThermaCool measures up.

Cool-to-touch Q-max: Dosaze ThermaCool about 0.43, versus published values for silk 0.19, bamboo 0.15 and cotton 0.11. Over twice silk's Q-max and nearly four times cotton's.

1. It feels cool the second you touch it.

ThermaCool's cooling fabric pulls heat away from your skin on contact. That's measured as Q-max: the higher the number, the cooler a fabric feels. In side-by-side lab testing on the same day, ThermaCool's Q-max is on par with Rest Evercool's: both measured about 0.43. That's more than twice the published Q-max of silk (0.19) and nearly four times cotton's (0.11).

Check any comforter: is there a lab-tested Q-max, or just the words "cool to the touch"?
5 out of 5 stars
"The comforter is cool to the touch and yet still plush and luxurious feeling to it. Have washed it multiple times and still feels like new"
Nicholas F., verified buyer
Phase change material: Dosaze ThermaCool has 30 percent PCM in the fill. Rest Evercool: no. Buffy Breeze and Cozy Earth: not listed.

2. It stays cool as you sleep.

Cool-touch fabric feels great when you get in, then warms up to your body. ThermaCool's fill is made with 30% phase change material (PCM), which absorbs excess heat as you warm up and releases it as you cool down, so the cooling keeps working after that first touch. Rest, Buffy and Cozy Earth don’t list any phase change material.

Check any comforter: ask what keeps a comforter cool at 3 a.m., not just when you first get in.

"Stays cool throughout the night, paired with the pillow sheets I have never slept better."

Water vapor absorbed in very humid air, fiber-level data from Lenzing: TENCEL lyocell about 20.5 percent, wool about 15, cotton about 8, polyester about 0.5

3. It pulls moisture off your skin.

The sleep side is a 75% TENCEL™ lyocell knit. Lyocell is a fiber that absorbs water vapor into its core instead of letting it sit on the surface. In Lenzing's fiber testing, lyocell absorbed more water vapor than wool, cotton or polyester.

Check any comforter: check what touches your skin. Polyester fibers don't absorb moisture.

Comforter plus sheets, Queen: Dosaze ThermaCool 200 dollars with the sheet set free, Buffy 298.50 dollars on sale, Rest Evercool bedding set 369 dollars on sale.

4. The whole cooling bed for less than theirs.

Every ThermaCool comforter comes with a free ThermaCool cooling sheet set (fitted sheet, flat sheet and two pillowcases), a $169.99 value. That’s the whole cooling bed for $200. The same pieces cost $298.50 from Buffy and $369 for Rest’s bedding set, even on sale.

Check any comforter: add up what the comforter and the sheets cost together.
Dosaze versus Rest Evercool, highlighted: free returns versus a 10 dollar refund fee. Also 60-night sleep trial versus 30 nights, 3-year warranty versus 1 year

5. 60 nights to decide. Free returns.

Sleep on it for 60 nights. If it's not for you, returns are free. And ThermaCool is covered by a 3-year warranty. Rest Evercool, by comparison, gives you 30 nights, charges a $10 refund fee if you send it back, and covers it for 1 year.

Check any comforter: read the return policy for refund fees and how many nights you really get.

Rest Evercool terms as listed on rest.com as of 10/26/2026: $10 flat fee per order on refunds; exchanges and store credit are free.
